 Based on the United States Concealed Carry Association’s mission of providing training for the responsibly armed American, this course consists of instruction in the following areas: Developing a personal and home protection plan; Firearms basics; Defensive shooting fundamentals; Legal use of force; Violent encounters and their aftermath; Gear and gadgets; and Basic and advanced skills. A USCCA Concealed Carry certificate will be provided upon successful completion of this course. 

  This lesson will continue with the basics, including a very visual overview of what we call the “building blocks” or the fundamentals for accurate and safe shooting. You will learn the  differences between the skills required for being a good “marksman” at the range, and the skills that might be required to save your life if you are ever the subject of a violent attack. 

  In this introduction module, students will learn the basics of handgun safety, including how to safely clear (unload) a semi-automatic pistol, learn and demonstrate the seven basic fundamentals for safe and accurate shooting. The lesson is rounded out by taking those basics, and putting them into practice both in the classroom and on the shooting range. This lesson will act as a building block as the student progresses to Women’s Intermediate Pistol. 

 In the class, we will cover several advanced topics, skills and drills. Topics include a detailed explanation of what students should know avoiding, escaping, and defending against an attacker, and even what the student should know about their obligations under the law when it comes to the legal right to use force. Three different types of reload methods are demonstrated. This class is also concluded with a number of on and off the range drills, including learning how to use cover and concealment, and even how to shoot on the move.

   If you’re ready to become your family’s first responder in an emergency situation, like a car accident, serious fall, gunshot wound, or other medical emergencies, this training cannot be missed. During this training, you’ll do more than simply sit in a classroom learning about these topics. Your USCCA instructor will work you through a dozen real-world scenarios using simulated patients and the actual products (or field expedients) that you’ll need to understand if you hope to save a life. Lessons include: - Patient assessment - Traumatic emergencies - Medical emergencies - Building your own first-aid kit   

   If you and friends or family were preparing to embark on a hunting trip or a trip to the local gun range, what would your response be if I asked you, “What’s the most likely emergency situation you might have to deal with?” If you said, “A gunshot wound,” you might be surprised to find out that in the United States, you are 1,110 times more likely to find yourself dealing with a stroke, 500 times more likely to find yourself dealing with a cardiac arrest, and tens of thousands of times more likely to find yourself dealing with a diabetic emergency, than you are to find yourself dealing with a gunshot injury. While you should also know how to deal with a gunshot injury, this lesson will deal with the medical emergencies mentioned above, and many others. .
